You changed my mind!

You changed my mind! - said no one, ever.

Yeah I get it.  I post, you decide.  And probably you will decide to keep thinking whatever you were thinking before.  At best you will also think, "wow, Ole is so right".  Or maybe, "wow, Ole is so wrong" :)

This is kind of like that other great meme: "Wait! - this is important.  Someone on the Internet is wrong!"

I'm posting this to let you know, I am not trying to change your mind.  I post stuff I think is interesting.  Some of it is stuff I think is wrong.  Some of it is stuff I think is right.  Some of it, frankly, I just don't know.  But I think it is interesting, and maybe you will too.

That bring up an interesting point - what makes something interesting?  (Worthy of your time...)  I claim the essence of "interesting" is "surprising".  New.  Different.  I'm a lot more interested in things I didn't know or thoughts I didn't agree with than with things I did know or did agree with.  This is why I subscribe to the New Yorker and the Economist.  I don't agree with everything they write, maybe not even with most of the things they write, and that makes them interesting!

So cheers.  Hope you enjoy the stuff I post even if you don't agree with it.  Maybe especially because you don't agree with it.  And who knows, maybe it will change your mind ... you might be the first one!
