(In the way of all things [especially] on the Internet, tech changes, and this post had to be changed too.
Way back in 2009 there was a service called scribd which one could use to "frame" a written document, even a large one,
even a book; and someone posted my favorite book of all time, Godel, Escher, Bach, and I had linked it here.
But that tech used a Flash player (!) and is no longer supported, and anyway the book isn't online in that form anymore.
But ... there *is* a PDF of the entire book (or *was*, on 4/5/216, when this was typed ... and so here it is!)
What we have here is pretty amazing, the entire text of Douglas Hofstader's Gödel Escher Bach.
This happens to be my favorite book of all time, and here it is for you to read.
Actually I wanted to share just the Birthday Cantatatata dialog.
